Tyre Coupling

Highly flexible, vibration-damping shaft connection for demanding conditions

The Rexton Tyre Coupling uses a resilient rubber element shaped like a “tyre” to connect two flanges. This flexible insert allows significant misalignment and absorbs shock and vibration, making it one of the most versatile coupling solutions in industrial drives.

Why choose our Tyre Coupling?

  • Exceptional flexibility – Handles higher levels of angular, parallel, and axial misalignment than most coupling types. Up to 4° angular and 6mm parallel offset.
  • Shock & vibration damping – Rubber tyre element cushions start-up shocks and reduces transmission of vibration.
  • Maintenance-friendly – No periodic lubrication necessary. The tyre element can be replaced without moving connected machinery.
  • Ease of Installation – Available with taper lock bush for ease of installation.
  • Durable & adaptable – Resistant to oil, grease, dust, and water with special tyre compounds available.

Typical applications

  • Pumps (cooling water, oil, chemical)
  • Compressors & blowers
  • Mixers & agitators
  • High-speed applications with high vibrations

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Align shafts within recommended tolerances to maximize tyre life.
  • Check tyre condition periodically for cracks, swelling, or hardening.
  • Replace tyre elements on signs of wear; easy to change without moving hubs.
  • For outdoor or corrosive environments, use the appropriate tyre material.
